Pocketknife, Multi-tool, Multi-hatted, Generalist, Flexible, Adaptable, Lover of variety.

What about having good work life balance... rarely any over time requirement yet still challenging and interesting work with no two days the same.

Am I speaking your language?

Add to those words a passion for providing tech support to small businesses and I may just have your new work home.

I'm impressed with this client because even though they've been a stable IT provider in the industry for a long time, their focus on growth in the last few years has really expanded their team and clientele. Joining now will mean you'll get to join their growth curve and they celebrate their growth with bonuses for all staff. More than that though, their inclusive culture and service focus makes it a great place to work for any engineer that is motivated by happy clients and interesting and diverse technology.

  • Genuine mid level systems engineer role
  • A variety of technology to get your hands on
  • Some solution design/consulting work as well
  • 40 hour week, rarely any after hours work required
  • Keenness to work in a Managed Services Provider

Day to day you will be taking calls remotely or attending onsite to fix issues across a growing client base. The client sizes would range from the home office sized businesses to about 100 users and the size of these clients is growing as well. For this reason they are looking for engineers that are familiar with small business technology and can comfortably scale their knowledge up to at least 100 user sizes.

If you work for or have worked for a Managed Services Provider or IT company looking after small and mid market businesses then you are in the box seat for this role. It will involve mainly support with some project work but the work will always be very varied due to the different nature of the clients that are supported.

Strong Administration and Support experience with the following technologies are needed or desired–

  • Windows Desktops in AD environments
  • Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
  • Office 365, including some basic SharePoint and OneDrive knowledge
  • Active Directory, Group Policy
  • Hardware knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Good network troubleshooting skills - DNS, DHCP, NAT, packet tracing
  • Backup technologies like Shadowprotect
  • Virtualisation experience

To meet the requirements of this role, you will have most of the following:

  • A warm, happy yet professional manner with a genuine customer service focus.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills at all levels of business
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to plan and maintain IT solutions for small businesses
  • Experience with Autotask, Datto RMM or equivalent products, highly desirable.

We look forward to reading your resume and engaging with you.
