Field Support Engineer

Hybrid work - work from home unless doing a client site visit.

This is the perfect role for someone who enjoys variety, values autonomy, and wants to build a long term career in a genuinely supportive team. You will spend around half your time working from home providing remote support or assisting with projects, and the other half onsite with a small group of clients in the financial sector. Site work is predictable and sensible. One client site per day and two to three clients per week. No endless driving between multiple locations.

The company has about sixty staff nationwide and is very family oriented. Flexibility around school commitments is normal here. They hire adults and treat people like adults.

What the role looks like

• Around half your time will be on site visits, usually four days per fortnight

• Work from home full time outside of planned client visits

• Support M365 preferably to a system administrator level. Certifications are valued

• Use your networking fundamentals

• Light involvement in private cloud environments

• Deliver client assessments and attend monthly client meetings

• Get involved in project work to build your capability over time

Who will do well here

• You are personable, grounded, and comfortable in your own skin

• You present well and can be trusted in front of clients

• You show integrity in how you communicate and behave. No politics

• You are proactive and look for ways to add value even if your queue is quiet. Documentation and environment clean up matters

• You are not afraid to say you do not know something and you follow through to find the answer

• You have at least 1 to 4 years of IT experience, or you are a graduate with solid life experience and maturity

The fine print

• Salary between $75k - $95k plus super

• On call roughly one week in eleven. You share this with two others so coverage is manageable. This is included in your salary.

• Occasional overtime, generally pre arranged with the client. This is paid as time in lieu

• Travel to Newcastle twice each year for training and team connection
