Support Engineer
- No Level 1 – You’re here to fix what others can’t.
- This role gives you space to own your work. You’ll be trusted to make decisions, build meaningful client relationships, and have the support you need to grow technically and professionally.
- Mentored not micro-managed – you’re trusted as default and help is always available
For the Tech Who’s Had Enough of Level 1
You’re the person people call when things go wrong. Not for password resets. Not for “have you tried turning it off and on again?” But for the problems that actually need fixing.
This Support Engineer role is with a highly structured, best-practice-driven MSP that does things properly—no cowboy IT, no winging it, just well-documented processes, high standards, and a professional team that takes IT seriously. They also work with not-for-profits, so the work you do actually makes a difference.
We’ve placed people here for over 10 years. Many are still there, having worked their way up into higher or specialized roles. If you’re good, they’ll invest in you—whether you’re an experienced L2 or a solid L1 looking to grow into something bigger.
Got 1-2 years of IT experience? Apply anyway. If you’re serious about IT and want to work somewhere that does things properly, they’ll mentor you into a senior role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Taking on escalations from techs who hit a wall.
- Keeping client systems running, documented, and secure.
- Finding and fixing recurring issues—no band-aid solutions.
- Improving processes because “that’s how we’ve always done it” isn’t a reason to keep doing it.
What You Need to Know (generalist knowledge required not depth)
- Microsoft 365 & Active Directory – Security, simple migrations, user & group admin.
- Networking & Firewalls – basic administration and management
- Windows Server & Virtualization
- PSA & RMM Tools – ConnectWise, Labtech, or similar.
Who You Are
- Problem solver, not just a ticket closer.
- Good with clients – You explain things in plain English, not tech jargon.
- Process-driven – You follow best practices and improve them.
- Keen to level up – If you don’t have Microsoft certs yet, you’ll work towards them.
- Team player – You know when to back up your teammates and when to push them forward.
Why This Role?
- Career Progression – Move into senior roles or specialize in what interests you.
- A Team That Has Your Back – No egos, no politics, just getting the job done.
- You’re here to fix real IT issues.
